The ashtray lids were looking a but scratched up and the chrome surrounds show the first signs of corrosion.

I dismantled the ashtrays, stripped the paint off the lids then undercoated them with acid etch primer and painted them satin black. The ashtray bodies were washed and buffed up with metal polish.

I got some push fit rivets from ebay to replace the ones I had to drill out to disassemble the ashtrays. The finished article looks almost as good as new.
